Guidelines for Sponsoring a Charitable Organization
If you are sponsoring a local charitable organization at an upcoming meeting:
2. Contact a representative from the organization you're sponsoring and inform them of the meeting date when they will be presenting.
3. As it gets closer to the meeting, please send a reminder to the organization's contact.
4. Be prepared to briefly introduce your presenter.
5. Inform the representative that they will have 5 minutes to present information about their organization, followed by a Q&A
before we vote. Members generally want to know:

Guidelines for Sponsoring a Charitable Organization
If you are sponsoring a local charitable organization at an upcoming meeting:
- Please ensure that the organization you are sponsoring is a documented 501c3 local charitable organization. The organization should be able to provide their EIN and be in good standing with State and Federal government.
2. Contact a representative from the organization you're sponsoring and inform them of the meeting date when they will be presenting.
3. As it gets closer to the meeting, please send a reminder to the organization's contact.
4. Be prepared to briefly introduce your presenter.
5. Inform the representative that they will have 5 minutes to present information about their organization, followed by a Q&A
before we vote. Members generally want to know:
- The services the group offers.
- How long the group has been in operation.
- How the money will be used if the group wins.
- What other funding sources the group receives.
- What are the administrative costs?
- What is the operating budget for the group organization.
6. If your group wins:
- Give the presenter the large envelope with our checks. This also contains the "congratulatory" letter.
- You or someone from the organization should arrange to pick up "straggler" checks. Details will be provided.
- Inform the presenter that a representative from the group is expected to come to the next meeting to provide a brief update about how the money they received was used.
